Here we will attempt to clarify the confusing world of web servers. Some of the things that should be considered are server network speed, bandwidth charges, server security, and server backup of your data, among others.

Web server data center operations should be monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. What sort of building security is offered. Are your e-commerce, credit card transactions, and other data safe?  Is the server monitored continously.

What is the fire situation at your server building? If someone in the neighborhood has a fire, will it effect your web server's operation? Will your web server go down, maybe permanently, because of a neighborhood fire? This could close down your website and possibly lose all your data.

Another consideration is the server operating system. The Internet for the most part runs on freeBSD Unix / Linux for the operating system, with Apache as the web server. Database websites for the most part use mySQL and PHP.  65% or more of the web runs on freeBSD Unix / Linux and Apache.
