The Early Years - 1970's

Recording Studio - Early 1970'sIn the 1970's Red branched out into live stage presentations, arena shows, set design, along with sound and lighting system design. while managing a recording studio in Atlanta, GA. Red worked with the largest live rock shows of the day, both in the studio and with live tours coast to coast, which played most of the major arenas in the united States.

Atlanta Stadium - 1976By the late 1980's or early 1990's, Red had participated in, and supplied equipment for, over 3000 live events. These included live events of all kinds, including stadium events. The picture shown to the left here is from 1976 at Atlanta Stadium. The large concert sound system Red supplied here was 42 feet tall on each side of the stage. The fence in front of the stage between the audience and the stage was 8 feet tall.

Red supplied both sound and lighting systems for many tours for over 20 years. There are hundreds of music groups that have used Red's services, including Marvin Gaye, The Jazz Festivals, Natalie Cole, along with many Pop festivals and stadium events like the one shown here.

At one time, anyone of note in the music business knew Red Wheeler.
